Hi there, Elizabeth!
Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. I'm always happy to help out a fellow guest, especially a fellow
Disney Premier Visa cardholder! There are so many perks to explore in and around the parks, and January is a great time to visit! It was just announced last week that the
holiday celebrations will extend through January 7th, so you will get to experience all the holly jolly, including Haunted Mansion Holiday, decorations, entertainment, and more!
While we won't quite know what specific perks may be available in January with your Disney Visa card, I can share what is currently available to help paint the picture. Of course, as I'm sure you know, all of your current purchases are racking up Disney Reward Dollars, which can be used during your visit on everything from food to merchandise. You'll want to ensure that you transfer those reward dollars to a redemption card ahead of your visit, which can be easily done in the card's app. You'll also want to add the Disney Visa and the redemption card as payment methods to your account to make for easy access while you are on the go in the parks!
First and foremost, your card will grant you 10% off select merchandise and dining locations throughout the Disneyland Resort. In my experience, Cast Members will typically ask if you have one to ensure you get to take advantage of your discount. When using Mobile Ordering, the discount will be automatically applied when you choose to pay with your Disney Visa if it's an applicable location. Occasionally, there are
promotions available on resort stays as well, which may be worth checking out before you make any bookings. While this isn't available at all times, I always recommend checking for any
special offers just in case!
Beyond the standard discounts, there are usually some very special photo opportunities just for cardholders. For any photo opportunities, I would check ahead of your visit to see the days and times these are available, as it's usually just a few hours and in a specific location. Currently, there is a
character photo opportunity in addition to a
Heroic Encounter offered in Hollywood Land at California Adventure. The characters in both will rotate in and out, so you never know what friendly pal might be waiting to give you a big old hug! Over at Disneyland Park, there is currently a
Star Wars character meet available. I may have run into Darth Vader himself during my last visit!
Elizabeth, I sure hope this has helped get you excited for your visit! While I don't quite have a crystal ball for the schedule for parades and fireworks that week, the
Entertainment Schedule is typically released about six weeks ahead of time, and I'd recommend making a note in your calendar to check it out. You will be able to see if parades and fireworks will be running during your visit, so you can put the finishing touches on your planning!
I hope this was helpful!
Magic awaits!
Tara
