Hi, Lisa!
As the
"Cruise Mom" on the Disney Moms Panel, I often get asked about gratuities on Disney ships. How much? When? To whom and how?
As far as tipping your server, assistant server, head server and stateroom host/hostess, I have prepaid my gratuities before I left home online at
DisneyCruise.com, and I have charged them to my stateroom once I'm on board. To my knowledge, crew members are not aware of gratuities until you present them with their respective (provided) envelopes either on the last evening or last morning of your cruise. When, where, how much and to whom is entirely up to you. The service I have received on Disney Cruise Line has always been above my expectations.
There's a
Gratuities Guideline Chart on DisneyCruise.com as you consider the Disney staff who will undoubtedly provide you with exemplary service.Other areas you may consider by adding to your stateroom account or giving them cash in hand:
Dining Manager -- Your Discretion (account)
Room Service -- Your Discretion (cash)
Palo & Remy -- Gratuity included (account)
Spa & Salon -- Your Discretion (account or cash)
Nursery -- Gratuity not expected (cash)
Shore Excursions -- Optional; not included in shore excursion price. (cash)
For your convenience, a 15% gratuity is automatically added to bar, beverage, wine and deck service tabs, and all gratuities can be charged to your room charge. I hope this helps clear things up for you. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
