Hi there, Tom,
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with a question about
The Cabins at Fort Wilderness. They are tucked away in a peaceful pine and cypress forest, which makes them feel like an escape, but at the same time, you're a hop, skip, and a jump away from activities such as swimming, archery, kayaking, canoeing, horseback riding, fishing, and more! My family spent a week in a Cabin this past summer, and loved it so much that the countdown until our next visit is already underway!
You'll be happy to know that Guests staying at a Disney Resort Hotel receive complimentary parking both at the Hotel and theme parks (this includes The Cabins at Fort Wilderness). Each Cabin has a parking space for one vehicle as well as room to park a
golf cart if you choose to rent one. Golf carts are a fun way to get around the resort. Tip: If you rent a golf cart, bring some decorations with you - it's a great way to identify your cart, and it's so fun to see everyone's carts decorated!
While you're enjoying your stay at the Cabins, I definitely recommend catching
Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long. It's a fun way to spend your evening! We like to pick up a s'mores kit from the
Chuck Wagon Snack Bar (it's conveniently located next to the fire pits), and then you can roast marshmallows and hang with everyone's favourite chipmunks! The Sing-A-Long is held nightly, and if you're up for it, you can catch a Movie Under the Stars right after. You can ask a Cast Member for the schedule of what's playing.
I hope you have a wonderful stay in the Cabins, Tom. If you have any other questions as you plan your trip, please don't hesitate to visit planDisney again. We're always happy to help!
See ya real soon,
Candace
