Hi Michael! Welcome to planDisney.
I see your visit to Walt Disney World Resort is just a few weeks away! What a merry and magical vacation you're going to have with Mickey and his friends during the holiday season. The halls are decked and the creatures are stirring, all waiting to welcome you home!
As you know, character meet and greets look a little different right now at Walt Disney World. As part of the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, character interactions remain physically distanced.
This recent Disney Parks Blog article announced that some character meet and greets would return, but "the environment is not right just yet for hugs and autographs."
My family loves to meet our favorite characters and take pictures, and we have autograph books that are filled with greetings. I have to tell you that we didn't miss autographs at all on our visit this past summer. Mickey and his pals have dreamed up some lovely and fun ways to interact with Guests. One of our favorites was breakfast at
Chef Mickey's - the meal was delicious (I ate a LOT of those potatoes) and Mickey and his pals circulated the restaurant several times during our meal. They interacted with each table, making time to pose for safely-distanced selfies and even stopping for dance parties along the way. The
Dining: Know Before You Go page has the most up-to-date list of available character dining experiences.
We also adored the character cavalcades in each theme park, especially the boat flotillas in Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The cavalcades are not scheduled entertainment, but you can't miss them as you enjoy theme park days. Characters will wave, blow kisses, and dance with you as they pass by. There are lots of characters out and about at EPCOT and they're sure to delight your family.
Michael, the
Parks and Tickets: Know Before You Go page is full of helpful information for planning your theme park days. Scroll down to Attractions and Entertainment to find a full list of experiences available in each theme park. Click "Entertainment" for each park to see the character experiences that are available.
Mickey Mouse in his 50th Anniversary suit at Town Square Theater and
Princess Tiana at Princess Fairytale Hall - both at Magic Kingdom Park - are can't miss characters for me! The character experiences do feel a little different, but they're still magical.
Thank you for stopping by planDisney again, and please come back if you have any further questions. I recommend reading the
Disney Parks Blog as you count down to your visit, as they share fun tips and important news from the theme parks. Have the BEST time at Walt Disney World, and say hi to Mickey for me!
Wishing you much magic,
Robyn
