How many characters might we expect to see, and get autographs from, on a 5 night cruise to the Bahamas on the Magic? Stops include both Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay. Thank you!

Hiya, Angela! Welcome back to planDisney.

I love this question. My family sailed on a five-night cruise aboard the Disney Magic with a large groups of friends just last summer. We had a cruise itinerary that was very similar to yours. We loved every minute of our cruise. Seeing and meeting many of our favorite Disney characters was a magical part of that fantastic experience.

On any given day during your sailing aboard the Disney Magic, you can expect to see anywhere from about a dozen to about two dozen character appearances listed in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Most days will have closer to 20 or so character appearances. Of those appearances, some characters may appear more than once each day. And many characters, especially the most common and popular characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Chip, and Dale will likely appear multiple days, if not every day during your cruise. Character appearances are subject to change. But if you are diligently seeking to see as many characters as you possibly could during your cruise, I would guess you might see as many as 20 or more total unique characters throughout your sailing. That's a lot of characters! Keep in mind that not every character is able to offer autographs. And certain characters who normally do offer autographs may occasionally have special appearances when they aren't able to do so.

Tony's Tip: Many cruise itineraries feature a special princess gathering event that allows you to meet several princesses all at one time. These events usually require advanced reservations. Be sure to check available onboard activities bookings before your cruise for availability of this offering. If you missed some of your favorite characters during their regular appearances, be sure to attend the 'Till We Meet Again event which usually takes place late in the evening on the last night of your cruise. You may have a chance to briefly say farewell to several of your pals at that time.

I'm excited that you'll get a chance to sail on such a magical cruise, Angela. You are going to have a blast for sure! Please be sure to visit us again here at planDisney if you have any more planning questions come to mind.

    Sea ya real soon, Angela!
