The characters in EPCOT at the world pavilions show multiple times that each is available -- as an example Alice may greet at 9, 10:30, 1 pm and so on. About how long is a character available during any of these slots?

Hi there Ann, wishing you a very Royal Welcome to planDisney!

Take it from a Prince; I can definitely say that I've met my share of Princesses as I've traveled around the world, and so can you! One of the greatest bits of magic that only comes with a Walt Disney World Resort visit is being able to meet some of your favorite Disney friends in global settings around World Showcase at EPCOT. These character experiences are amplified by the sights and sounds of the different countries where their stories may have originated from like Mulan in China, or have inspired the look of their home kingdom like Jasmine.

I had a great chat with Entertainment Cast Members who you might say are very good friends with some headstrong heroines and have bestowed upon me some royally useful bits of knowledge to help answer your question:

    • To use your example, whenever Alice comes to visit there is a good chance that she may be off again on another wonderful adventure before long, but she likes to make sure that she spends some time greeting friends among the gardens. While times and locations are never guaranteed and subject to change, you might have the best opportunity of meeting her within the first 20 minutes after the scheduled time.
    • It's a great idea to arrive early and confirm with the friendly Cast Member dressed in a shirt like a Brightly-colored Blueberry when you might expect any special friends to come by next. After all, you wouldn't want to be like the White Rabbit and catch yourself late for this very important date!
    • Sometimes the weather conditions may affect how long of a visit they might make - after all, not everyone can be as much of a Happy Snowman in Summer like Olaf! Keep this in mind if the temperature may be skyrocketing, or if you encounter constant periods of precipitation. And because they've proven that a major climate fluctuation doesn't bother them anyway, this typically does not affect experiences such as meeting Anna and Elsa at an indoor location like their Royal Sommerhus!

And as a little bit of an extra Princely Pick, Tip or Trick that I can offer you - if you're on the hunt to perhaps meet and take photos with some unexpected friends, I would recommend keeping a careful eye out near the following locations:

(Keep your eyes peeled with your cameras ready, and you might be fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of some other Characters enjoying a quick World Showcase visit.)

I hope this was helpful to you for your upcoming trip later this year Ann! Please come back to planDisney to ask me more questions - especially when it comes to meeting our favorite friends at any Disney Destinations around the world!

I wish you all the best as you embark on your Character Quest!
