Are characters allowed to sign clothing, specifically a Disneyland spirit jersey, if the clothing is not being worn by the guest?

Howdy, Audrey, welcome to planDisney! Don't you just love meeting characters at the Disneyland Resort? It's a great idea to commemorate your special day with autographs from your favorite pals.

You're absolutely right, Audrey! Most Disney characters who are signing autographs would sign clothing as long it isn't something you are currently wearing. I recommend bringing a book or a hard surface to make it easier for them to sign your spirit jersey. Also, a fabric-friendly marker will work wonders (no need for a magic wand here)! I've seen Guests bring all sorts of keepsakes for characters to sign, including backpacks, posters, photos, picture mattes, and even reusable water bottles!

I have fond childhood memories of collecting autographs at Disneyland with a little pink book. One day, around a year ago, I bought an autograph book in the park for my six-year-old, who was typically shy around characters. To my surprise, the autograph book made her more confident in approaching her idols. She now has a completely filled book with autographs that she treasures. I might have to bring something special, like a t-shirt, for her to get signed next!

As you decide which Disney friends to meet throughout the day, consider using the Disneyland mobile app. Tap the location marker icon at the bottom of the app screen to bring up the map. Tap "Attractions" to bring down the menu of categories, then tap "Characters." You'll discover which Disney friends are greeting guests and where. I generally find it easiest to tap "Show List" and scan through the character names.

Why not meet beloved Disney friends while enjoying some tasty food, too? There are a few character dining experiences at the Disneyland Resort where you could do just that. My family's favorite is Breakfast in the Park with Minnie and Friends at Plaza Inn. We typically start the experience by taking a photo with our hostess, Minnie Mouse! I appreciate that the Chef can prepare great plant-based menu alternatives for us, which we enjoy as various characters approach our table. Tigger and Pluto are usually the top appearances for my kids. This would be a great opportunity to add autographs, photos, and food to your day.

Audrey, I'm wishing on a star that you'll find the perfect autograph to make your spirit jersey extra special. I hope your visit to the Disneyland Resort is one for the memory books.
