How many characters are allowed for hat embroidery?

    Hi, Rachiel!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I just love the iconic, or should I say ear-conic, Mickey ear hats! Did you know that the 'First Haircut' package at Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom Park includes a commemorative set of mouse ears?

Classic ear hats can feature up to 16 characters, or combination of characters and spaces, per line, with a maximum of two lines. This gives a lot of creativity as you can announce a wedding date, due date, a future Mouseketeer's name, you can celebrate landing a spot on the Disney Parks Moms Panel, anything goes!

There are currently three font styles and nine thread colors to choose from. The 'Basic' embroidery, which is the classic dotted-script font, can only be used for proper names. This choice comes in either gold, black or dark pink. The 'Premium' fonts are either a more traditional script or a fun style, both of which can be done in gold, black, dark pink, light pink, red, white, purple, light blue or dark blue.

While ears can be found all over, only a few shops have the machines to add your moniker. These are both The Chapeau and Big Top Souvenirs in Magic Kingdom Park, Mouse Gears in Epcot, The Darkroom at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Discovery Trading Post in Disney's Animal Kingdom. And neat to note, these locations might be able to embroider other garments, like jackets and t-shirts.

Un-related Side Note: Check out this ultimate tweet of 140 Characters.

I hope this helped, Rachiel, and We'll See You Real Soon!
