Are there any character restaurants in WDW that are NOT family/ buffet style? I don't mind paying the bucks for these options, but my children are light eaters and I'd love to take what they don't finish with us to the resort

    Hi Sierra,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question!

My little guy is hit-or-miss in the eating department. Sometimes he only nibbles and, other times, he eats more than I do! I understand wanting to avoid family style/buffet restaurants with your little ones if they aren’t big eaters.

From what I can see, you do have a couple of options for Character Dining options if you’re looking to avoid all-you-care-to-eat locations. First, from what I understand, although Cinderella’s Royal Table is a fixed price dining location, the selections are served “à la carte” style, which means that everyone gets to order a set plate and bring their leftovers home, if they wish.  The Bon Voyage Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno has a similar setup, and there, you get to dine with Flynn Ryder and Rapunzel, as well as Ariel and Prince Eric.

Finally, don’t forget that if your kids are under the age of 3, they get to dine at any buffet or family style location as Mickey Mouse’s special guests, which means that you won’t have to pay for their meal.

I hope my answer helps you plan your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
