Get ready to make a scene, Linda! Wouldn't you like to see something strange? Well, come with me and you will see how Magic Kingdom Park transforms into a town of Halloween!
At the Walt Disney World Resort, Halloween starts in August. Yes, we hail to the pumpkin song early! And that's fine with us as we just love to see pumpkins scream in the dead of night (or flicker throughout the night along the streets of Main Street, U.S.A.). And while there may not be a man hiding in the trash can 'round every corner nor is everything red and black or slimy green, I'll say it once, I'll say it twice, the park looks gorgeous all decked out for the spookiest, but not too scary, time of year!
Specialty character meet and greets are available throughout
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, even when Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade is being performed. If you are thinking of meeting very popular characters like Jack and Sally or the Seven Dwarfs, you will want to prioritize them as the line usually forms before the party starts! Just make sure you have your party wristband before getting in line.
What's this? You want some tips to have the best visit so that your eyes aren't glowing red and you're not hiding under your bed? Sure thing! Even though the party begins at 7 p.m., you can usually enter the park as early as 4 p.m. I suggest you use this time to either get in line for rare meet and greets so not everybody screams or you can
willingly scream on some of your favorite attractions before the party. Since there is so much to do at the party, you may not be able to experience it all, so getting into some attractions beforehand can be a great idea! This way, you won't jump out of your skin if you don't get that one ride on Haunted Mansion!
If you want to catch the frightfully fun Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, it is usually performed two times each night, with the later showing usually being less crowded. You may want to hail the Pumpkin King, and rightfully so, but you'll also want to hail my favorites, the three delightfully wicked Sanderson Sisters, as they put a spell on you during the
Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, which shows multiple times each night. If you are a night owl and are planning on staying until the witching hour of 12 a.m. midnight, I'd suggest going to the last showing as a great nightcap! And of course, take a chance and roll the dice while watching Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular. All the times will be listed in the guide you can pick up as you enter the park. And don't forget to check out the
Foodie Guide to this year's party for all of the delectable treats!
Linda, I hope you scream like a banshee with the wind blowing through your hair as you have a delightful time celebrating the Halloween season. Be sure to
reach out to me if you have any questions. I'll be waiting with the king of the Pumpkin Patch!
Life's no fun without a good scare,
Matt
