How many character meals do you recommend? We'll be there 4 days (only half the last day) Thinking of doing Tusker House to see Mickey and Donald but my kids love Jake too so thinking of adding that on the last day. Is that too much for a 2 & 5 y/o?

    Hi Tracy!

Character meals are a great way to meet the characters and enjoy a great meal. I love the added bonus of eating and not waiting in line to see characters but letting them come to us.

For my family, I typically only plan 1 to 2 character meals per trip depending on the length of our stay. We are very blessed to be able to visit a few times a year so I plan on a different one each trip. If you don't get to visit as often and meeting characters is a priority for your kids, then I'd plan on at least 2 during your trip but no more than one per day.  When traveling with little ones, I like having a little more flexibility in our schedules and not spending my day stressed out about making specific reservation times.

When making your reservations, plan on locations that offer different characters.  I like making reservations for breakfast character meals which is usually a little cheaper than other meals during the day.  Its also when my kids are at their freshest and I get better reactions from them.

If not visiting a park on our last day, we like to end our trip with a character breakfast before heading out.  Nothing like a last dose of pixie dust to end our magical trip.

Tusker House is a great location.  Just keep in mind that characters only appear at breakfast at that location.  Jake appears at Disney's Hollywood Studios next to Disney Junior - Live on Stage! but doesn't currently appear at any of the character meals.  Be sure to check your Times Guide when you enter Hollywood Studios for appearance times.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-)  Allison
