Do I have to many character meals planned? Mickeys backyard BBQ tusker house,be our guest, the Disney jr play n dine breakfast, Hollywood and vine for dinner, Minnie's beach bash breakfast. I am concerned I have to many buffets scheduled. i have a 2 yo

Hi Briana! Wow, you do have quite a few Character Dining reservations. Traveling with my own children and now my grandchildren I have found that after a couple of character meals during a vacation it can lose its magical luster.

I think the important thing is to think about what characters are most important for your child to meet. Is their interest in the "fabulous five" characters which are Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto? Or are they more interested in the Disney Junior characters or perhaps the Disney princesses? I would select one character experience for Mickey and friends and then perhaps one other for another character. Buffets are great when traveling with children as you can certainly easily cater to their culinary tastes. Disney offers great buffet choices at all locations.

My suggestion is to select from your reservation list just 2-3 for this vacation trip. Be Our Guest is not really a buffet and it is located in a beautiful setting. Mickey's Backyard Barbecue is found at Fort Wilderness Resort and is something different. I have found that with this event the younger children do not get as much out of it as the older ones. There is dancing with the characters and often the younger ones are pushed over and can't enjoy the experience. The entertainment is for a bit older child as well.
