To get into a character dining spot we wanted, we had to split our group into 2 reservations (same date/time). Is it possible to request the tables be next to each other? Or do we just have to wait until we get there and request at the hostess stand?

    Hiya Robyn,

Welcome to planDisney! I always love seeing a Guest from the Buckeye State visit us here, and it is extra special when it is about one of my favorite topics, Walt Disney World Resort dining. I could talk endlessly about character dining (my favorite for breakfast is Topolino's Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera), snacks, and festival eats. But before I go off on a tangent, let's get to your question!

Depending on where you choose to dine, splitting up your party for reservations is sometimes the only way to ensure you can secure reservations. However, even though your party is split up, there is still a chance you can be seated together or close by (subject to availability). Unfortunately, such requests must be made in person when you check in with the Cast Member at the podium. I'm someone who isn't a massive fan of uncertainty, so when I've done this in the past, I have spoken to the Cast Member 30-45 minutes before my reservation just to let them know about my request a little early. They have always been able to take a note down for me but reminded me that they couldn't let me know if my request could be honored until closer to my confirmed reservation time.

I hope this was helpful, Robyn and you can enjoy your meal together. Please come back and see us if you need anything else.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
