Hi Jodi! Meeting some of our favorite characters, while also getting an amazingly delicious meal, is one of the best parts of visiting the Walt Disney World Resort! Let’s see what we can do to help you find some reservations!
Character dining is extremely popular at the Walt Disney World Resort! Guests wishing to enjoy Disney character dining are encouraged to book their reservations 60 days prior to their vacation arrival date. Reservations are scooped up rather quickly. Don’t lose hope, Jodi! Guests change plans and that can result in dining reservations being cancelled. I recommend using the
My Disney Experience app to frequently check dining availability at your preferred dining locations. When you open the app, tap on the magnifying glass (to perform a search) and search for your preferred dining location by name. Then click on the icon that states, “Reserve Dining” to check for availability.
Jodi, I even recommend checking on the “day of” your preferred visit to the restaurant. I have found dining reservations for some of the most popular restaurants on the “day of” or the day before. As Guests change their plans, reservations become available!
Another option you can try is
Mobile Dine Walk-up Availability. This is a feature available on the My Disney Experience app. Similar to above, open the app to the specific restaurant in which you want to dine. Then tap, “Join Walk-Up List.” If dining is available, you’ll be prompted to enter your dining preferences. Jodi, keep one important note in mind. When using the “Join Walk-Up List” you must be within proximity of the restaurant. If you try to join the walk-up list but aren’t within proximity, you’ll receive a message letting you know that you need to get closer to the restaurant.
I hope these tips are helpful! I’ll be sending you some “pixie dust” in hopes that you secure a reservation!
Happy Planning!
Jonathan
