    Hi, for character dining is there a way to not have interactions with the characters. My son likes the atmosphere and watching the characters but gets anxiety when they come to the tables, can we request to just be past by.

    Hey Samantha and welcome back to planDisney. I am so glad you asked this question because if there is one thing that Walt Disney World Resort does exceptionally well is that it creates enchanted experiences for every Guest.

    Character Dining provides an opportunity to mingle and get a photograph with your favorite Disney Characters but that does not mean everyone has to participate. For Guests of all ages who enjoy watching Disney Characters interact with each other or with other Guests, they simply just need to ask. When you arrive at the restaurant ask the hostess and the character handler (who will be next to the Disney Character during your meal) to pass by or have the character wave from afar. Remember, Disney wants your son to have his Most Magical Disney Vacation ever so they will do whatever they can to make that happen.

    Other places to see Disney Characters and not have to be too close will be Mickey's Magical Friendship Faire, Disney Friends Adventure Cavalcade, Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, and many others.

    planDisney Pro Tip: One special benefit of Character Dining is getting a character autograph. I recommend bringing an autograph book with a large Sharpie marker and speaking with your server. Tell them your son loves Disney Characters but gets very anxious around them. They may be able to make some magic happen without the character ever coming to your table.
