For character dining are there healthy options somehow indicated on the menu?

    Hey Robert,

Great question! Most of the character dining experiences in Walt Disney World are either buffet-style or family-style meals. So, if you're careful about what you eat, you can easily steer clear from the foods you're trying to avoid.

(Cinderella's Royal Table has a traditional menu and there are some healthy options to choose from. I was just there a few months ago and ordered a vegetarian dish that was really awesome!)

For the buffet-style restaurants, it's been my experience that there are a lot of healthy options to choose from. As for the family-style restaurants (e.g. The Garden Grill dinner in Epcot or the 'Ohana character breakfast in Disney's Polynesian Resort), there are healthy components to the meal and you are welcome to ask for more of any particular item that you care for. (If you don't want to be tempted by the non-healthy items, you can always ask your server to omit those items from the plates that are brought to your table.)

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

In the travel industry, Disney has been recognized a front-runner in terms of nutrition. Guests with food allergies or special dietary restrictions are greeted at their table by chefs who can explain menu items and ingredients. That way, you can order with confidence and even request special substitutions if needed.

I hope that helps! If you should have any additional questions, please feel free to write back and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.

    Best regards,
    Derek
