Hello Missy,
There are so many unique options for dining in Walt Disney World, and character dining is certainly one of the most fun! Even though it's not available at all of your favorite restaurants, it is slowly starting to return with some modifications. Characters are staying socially distant, so there isn't any hugging or autograph signing. However, they will get close enough to pose for a socially distanced photo, and just being in the same room as they are can be a treat!
Some of the restaurants that have character dining right now include:
Topolino's Terrace,
Garden Grill,
Chef Mickey's,
Hollywood & Vine,
Tusker House Restaurant, and
Storybook Dining at Artist Point. At
Cinderella's Royal Table, you can see Cinderella, and the Beast usually makes an appearance at
Be Our Guest Restaurant.
I'm hopeful that we'll start to see other character dining experiences return. Our family loves meeting Winnie the Pooh and friends at Crystal Palace, and Stitch fans are eagerly waiting for the character breakfast at Ohana to start again. My fingers and toes are crossed for these to come back!
Because there are limited options right now for character dining, reservations tend to fill up quickly. Keep checking back. Guests' plans often change, and when they cancel their reservations, spots will open back up. Also, check your My Disney Experience app while you are on vacation to see if there is any walk up availability.
Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!
Diane
