Welcome back to planDisney! How exciting that you're getting ready to
sail on the Disney Adventure! Ever since she began welcoming Guests, it's been so much fun seeing all the social media content and hearing about the incredible experiences onboard.
I actually looked into this very question a few months ago after noticing the same thing you did. At that time, the Disney Adventure was not included as an option in the Character Call dropdown menu, and after speaking with Disney Cruise Line, I learned there wasn't a way to officially
request a Character Call specifically for Adventure sailings. As of today, I still don't see the Adventure listed, so it appears that hasn't changed yet.
Of course, I couldn't leave it there. Like Chip and Dale getting into a little harmless mischief, I decided to do some experimenting of my own to see if there was another way to make the surprise work!
Here's what I discovered:
• I tested a Goofy Character Call using the Bahamas as the destination, and Goofy mentioned the Bahamas during his message.
• I also tested a Mickey Character Call by selecting "Other" as the destination. In that version, Mickey didn't mention a specific ship or destination at all.
Because of that, I'd recommend choosing another ship from the list and selecting "Other" as the destination if you're hoping to surprise your family before your Adventure sailing. It's not a perfect solution, but it keeps the message nice and general while still delivering that magical phone call from one of your favorite Disney pals.
Once you've completed the setup, you'll receive a phone number and a unique access code. When you're ready for the surprise, simply call the number, enter your code, and press "1" to hear your character's message. It's a fun way to sprinkle a little pixie dust into the countdown before you ever step aboard.
I hope this helps as you put the
finishing touches on your Adventure countdown. Even without a ship-specific Character Call, hearing Mickey or one of his pals on the other end of the phone is still a magical way to build excitement for the voyage ahead.
