Are character breakfasts at Tusker House and Chef Mickey too similar to do both, in terms of food & characters? First trip to WDW with DD 4 1/2 & DS 2. Also, dinner at Akershus and CRT too similar to do both? Thx so much, panel is great!

    Hi Alyssa,

There is no such thing as experiencing too many Character meals during a visit to Walt Disney World as far as I am concerned.

Chef Mickey's v Tusker House Restaurant
Character dining is available at Chef Mickey's for Breakfast and Dinner and at Tusker House Restaurant for Breakfast and Lunch. Whilst both dining locations are buffet style and offer similar food during Breakfast,  African flavors are drummed up in the delicious Lunch buffet at Tusker House Restaurant which includes a variety of vegetarian and meat dishes and Dinner at Chef Mickey's includes roasted chicken, carved beef, savory sides and kids' favorites (like mac 'n' cheese).
You can normally find Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto at both locations with the addition of Daisy Duck at Tusker House Restaurant.

Akershus Royal Banquest Hall v Cinderella's Royal Table
Character dining is available at both of these restaurants for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.  At Akershus Royal Banquest Hall each meal starts with an adventurous "Taste of Norway," an impressive Norwegian buffet (koldtbord) of cold dishes. For breakfast, American favorites are served family style as well as from a breakfast buffet. Lunch and dinner feature hot entrees available à la carte. Where as at Cinderella's Royal Table, the food is more traditional American favourites. You will be able to see a variety of the Disney Princesses at each dining location.

If I had to choose between the two, I would go for Cinderella's Royal Table as there is just something extra special about dining inside Cinderella Castle.

I would highly recommend making advance dining reservations for any Character meals at you earliest possible opportunity as they are very popular and do get booked up.

Wishing you a magical trip filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
