We have a 7:30am character breakfast at Chef Mickeys on 10/15/13. We will have to go by bus to the MK and transfer to monorail to Cont resort. Parks open at 9am, extra magic hours at 8am. Do buses start at 7am or 8am that day?

    Kim,

You are going to have the most magical start to your day rubbing elbows with Mickey and his gang while eating a delicious breakfast. Chef Mickey's breakfast buffet is one of my top favorites for the character interactions, atmosphere and bountiful buffet!

Disney transportation begins one hour before park opening, so on the mornings with Extra Magic Hours, it will begin one hour before that. However, upon closer inspection, it is Epcot that has Extra Magic Hours that morning, not Magic Kingdom. So, that transfer might be a little tight even if there is a Magic Kingdom bus. Your better bet would be one of the special early morning buses for guests with character breakfast reservations in the parks and resorts prior to park opening. You will need to check with the front desk either when you check-in or the evening before your morning reservation to find out when and where this bus will pick up at your resort. You will take it to the Magic Kingdom and from there you can walk (about 5-10 min) or ride the monorail to the Contemporary. Occasionally, bus drivers have been known to drop guests off directly at the Contemporary, but that is completely at the discretion of the driver and not guaranteed.

    I hope you have a pixie-dusted trip!
