Aloha, Alice, and welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you found us. While we're in the midst of a Midwestern snowstorm, I wholeheartedly support planning a vacation somewhere sunny. Let's hop on a Hawaiian rollercoaster ride together and get an answer to your planning question!
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa is such an amazing spot. We have been lucky enough to visit twice - we heard our first "Welcome Home" as
Disney Vacation Club Members here, and enjoyed spending the holidays on the beach last year. Aulani's location in Ko Olina is great since it's a quieter part of Oahu, but you can easily get to Honolulu and other fun spots around the island.
All of the dining options are excellent, but the Character breakfast at
Makahiki - The Bounty of the Islands - is really a treat. You have a choice of some Hawaiian-inspired dishes like Loco Moco, as well as traditional breakfast favorites like Mickey waffles. Mickey Mouse and some pals will make their way through the restaurant for photos and autographs, and it's a great start to the day!
Alice, the online booking system for dining reservations at Aulani allows a maximum of 8 Guests. I recommend
calling the resort to reserve a table promptly at 9:00 AM (PST). Alternatively, you could make online reservations for a group of 5 and a group of 4. If you go this route, you can request that your tables be seated near each other. This can't be guaranteed, but in my experience, the Cast Members will do their best to make it work!
Beyond breakfast, there are lots of opportunities throughout the day to interact with the Characters at Aulani, including Moana, Stitch, Chip and Dale, and more! Be sure to download the
Aulani resort app so you can be in the know for all of the daily activities going on around the resort.
I hope this information is helpful, Alice - good luck getting that coveted breakfast reservation! If our planDisney
'Ohana can assist with other questions for your Aulani vacation, please come see us again anytime.
Aloha!
Susan
