Hi Leslie,
Welcome to planDisney! I love that, even before your Walt Disney World vacation has begun, you're already thinking about how to pack the most magic into your visit with a parkhopper ticket.
Parkhoppers allow you to be spontaneous, based on your mood, the weather, the crowds or even your appetite. Once when my daughter was 5, just as we stepped onto Main Street USA, she looked up and said, "Would it be bad if I'm in an Epcot mood today instead of a Magic Kingdom mood?"
Nope, not at all. We turned around, hopped on the monorail and were snacking our way around the World Showcase within minutes. That's the beauty of park-hopping.
You can upgrade your one-park-a-day tickets in a few ways. Online, you can sign into
My Disney Experience and go to the Plans and Tickets section and find the list of Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker. Beside each ticket, you should see a button to modify or upgrade. That's where you can choose the parkhopper option and pay the additional fee. (It will look slightly different in the My Disney Experience Mobile App, but the process is similar.)
To speak with a person to assist with the upgrade, you can
call the Tickets and Hotel Reservations phone line. Or, once you reach Walt Disney World, you can visit a
Guest Relations location, including the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs or a ticket booth at the entrance to each theme park.
Whether you go online or call, I recommend completing the upgrade in advance if possible. That will give you more flexibility in planning activities and dining reservations. We love nothing better than conquering Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom in the morning and then dining at Biergarten in Epcot in the evening before fireworks.
I hope that helps, Leslie. Please let us know if you have any other questions as your vacation nears.
Happy planning,
Wilma
