With changing guidelines June 15th, will children who are not old enough to get vaccinated still be required to wear masks all the time besides outside?

    Hey there, hi there Nadine!

You're always welcome as can be at planDisney, and we're so glad you stopped by to chat about your upcoming vacation. You'll be visiting during my favorite (and the merriest) time of year, so stay tuned for news about this year's holiday happenings in the theme parks and resorts.

With the evolving global public health situation, it's more important than ever to stay up to date with protocols for visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth. I like to follow the Disney Parks Blog and the Experience Updates page for the most accurate and current information. Recently, it was announced that starting June 15, face coverings will be optional for vaccinated Guests in most areas of the theme parks and resorts. Because children under 12 are not yet able to receive a Covid-19 vaccine, and the new guidelines apply to vaccinated visitors only, younger Mouseketeers are required to wear face masks in indoor venues, on attractions, and while using transportation. All Guests, regardless of vaccination status need to keep face coverings on while riding Disney transportation.

My family and I will be traveling to Walt Disney World in less than two months (let the final countdown to fun begin!), and our little ones are both under 12, so they will still be donning their favorite face coverings while enjoying attractions and exploring indoor areas. Fortunately, they've become quite accustomed to sporting a face mask wherever they go, so wearing them in theme parks is a normal part of their world. There are some really cute designs available on shopDisney, and my kiddos have already selected their favorites for our upcoming trip. Since the vaccinated grown-ups in our party will still be wearing masks on transportation and might opt to wear them in more crowded areas of the parks, we're also planning to pack plenty of this year's most essential fashion accessories.

I hope this is helpful as you continue to dream about your Walt Disney World adventure. This is an especially exciting year to visit, and if there's anything else we can do before you embark on your journey, come back and see us at planDisney anytime. We're all ears!
