We just changed our hotel reservation for Wine and Dine to the AKL. How will we get to the races (5K, Kids and 1/2). Would having a car make it easier?

Great to hear from you again, Amy!

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, as you know, is not a host resort for the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon, making transportation a little tricky. Here are your options in getting to/from this tasty race.

    To the race:
    - Take theme park bus transportation to Epcot theme park. In the past, guests who are driving in park at Epcot and then take a dedicated bus to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. It should be the same this year! The race starts at the ESPN Wide World of Sports and ends at Epcot, so runners park there and shuttle over.

    - MEARS taxi service (Disney's official cab service. Never get into a cab on-property that is not MEARS!). Cast Members at the front entrance will gladly get you a taxi to the ESPN Wide World of Sports. I have had to do this before when also staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and needing to get to the Expo. I believe I paid a total of $15.00 with gratuity.

    - If you have a car, you will drive to and park at Epcot. There will be buses there to shuttle you over to the start. Advantage with this is having a car to take you back after the race.

    From the race:
Your only options here are to take a Taxi back to Animal Kingdom Lodge, or a car if you drove in. Unfortunately there are not a lot of options at this time of night. No theme park or resort buses will be running with the exception of the host hotel motor coach buses. So if you took a bus to a host hotel, you would still need a taxi to get you from that resort back to Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I hope this helps with your planning, Amy. Please let me know if you should have any additional questions. I'm here to help you get a race-night plan together.
