Hi Kaitlyn,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question!
When it comes to booking a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, guests often book in advance to secure their reservation for the hotel that works best for them. Once that’s done, guests typically have up to at least five days in advance of the reservation to cancel to get a refund on their deposit.
Now, if you’re looking to adjust your
hotel reservation to another on the same day your reservation begins, your changes would be subject to that day’s availability. With the adjustment, you’d lose out on your deposit for the room you had prior and you’d have to purchase the new hotel room which most likely will result in a price increase since you would be booking the day of.
If you have a current hotel reservation and you’re seeing others that you’d enjoy instead, I suggest going ahead and cancelling now! If you do this before your refund window closes, you should be able to get your refund and then put your money towards the new reservation. Going about the process this way will be much easier because you can reserve your room in advance. This might also save you some money so you’re not making changes the day of your reservation!
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you plan for your next Walt Disney World vacation. If you have further planning or vacation questions,
please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
