Brianne from WA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

If I change my reservation to a cheaper tier then what I paid for, do I get credit for the excess money I paid originally?

Welcome to planDisney, Brianne! I'm so happy you brought your question to our team of panelists, and I'm especially excited to answer one from a fellow Guest from my home state of Washington!

It sounds like you may have purchased a 1-day ticket to visit Disneyland Resort this year. These tickets are priced by Tier, according to the date you selected for your visit. 1-day tickets are valid for any date in the designated tier (or lower tiers) through its expiration date. For this reason, even if you choose to change your theme park reservation to a date in one of the lower tiers, your ticket will still be valid, but no credit or refund will be offered. You can verify the specific provisions of your ticket purchase in the eTicket terms and conditions.

I hope this is helpful guidance, Brianne. If you do opt to change the date of your visit, remember that you will still need a valid theme park reservation for that date, so be sure to use the "Modify" option in the "My Plans" section of your Disney account. This will allow you to select an eligible date for your change in plans, and you'll receive a new email confirmation with these details. If we can help with any other recommendations in the meantime, I hope you'll feel welcome to come back to planDisney. We'd love to help!

    Wishing you Wondrous Journeys,
    Tishra
