How can I change my park reservations? I want to switch the days I go to Animal Kingdom and Epcot

Hey there, Suzanne. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. Your vacation to the most magical place on earth is only about a month away. I bet you are getting so excited!

When I am planning a Walt Disney World vacation, I know that my plans can change quite a bit depending on restaurant reservations I am able to secure and fluctuating park hours so I've definitely had my fair share of switching around park pass reservations.

    Here's how it works:
    • First, I would suggest looking at the availability calendar for the Walt Disney World Theme Parks on the date you'd like to change your park pass reservations. The calendar is broken down into three categories - Resort Guests, Guests with tickets only and Annual Passholders. Each category has its own park capacity limitations so you want to be sure you are viewing the one that pertains to you.
    • Once you are sure the park you are wanting to switch to has availability, you are actually going to need to cancel your existing park pass reservation for that day. There isn't an option to change it so we need to cancel it and start over. To cancel, log into your MyDisneyExperience account. The "My Plans" section will show your park pass reservations. You can select the one you are going to change by clicking "View Details. This will take you to a screen where you will be able to cancel the park pass reservation.
    • Then, you can head over to the park pass reservation website and start the process of selecting a new park pass reservation for that day. The process will look the same as when you did it initially.
If there aren't any park pass reservations available for what you are wanting to switch around to, I suggest looking into upgrading your ticket to include the park hopper option. Park hopping is when you can visit multiple Walt Disney World Theme Parks in one day. Since its return, parking hopping does look a little bit different at this time. In order to park hop, you must make a park pass reservation for an initial park each day. Then you do need to visit that first theme park with your reservation to activate your hopper feature. Park hopping starts at 2:00 p.m. each day and lasts until the park closes. This might be a really great option for you to visit the parks you'd really like to go to each day if you aren't able to make the changes you are wanting.

Suzanne, I hope you are able to change your park pass reservations with no problems. If you have any other questions, I am happy to help. Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
