Hello, Michael. I'm so glad you've dropped by planDisney with your question.
My itinerary often changes when I am planning a Walt Disney World vacation, so I'm well versed in changing out park pass reservations. What I suggest doing first is taking a look at the
Walt Disney World availability calendar. You'll want to make sure that there is availability in the park you'd like to go to before making any changes to your reservation. Once you've looked and if there is availability, go ahead and log in to your
MyDisneyExperience account. Once there, scroll down to where you see your daily itinerary under the "My Plans, Reservations & Tickets" section. On the day you'd like to swap your
park pass reservation, select the button that says, "View Details". This is going to take you to another page where you'll see the option to cancel your park pass reservation. You'll go ahead and cancel it because there isn't an option to modify it at this time. After you've canceled your park pass reservation, you'll then head over to the park pass reservation website. You'll choose your party, the date and theme park you'd like to visit - just like you did before. If the theme park you are wanting to visit is available, you'll be taken to a confirmation page and then you should see your new park pass reservation in your MyDisneyExperience account.
If the park you'd like to switch your park pass reservation over to isn't available, I recommend upgrading your ticket to include the park hopper option. Park hopping is where you can visit multiple Walt Disney World Theme Parks in one day. Park hopping just recently returned to us and does look a little bit different than it did before. To park hop currently, you must have standard theme park admission with the park hopper option. You'll also need to make a park pass reservation for an initial park each day. On that day, you'll need to scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation. This sort of "activates" your park hopper option each day. Park hopping hours now start at 2:00 p.m. and last until each park closes in the evenings. You do not need to make additional park pass reservations to park hop throughout the day after your initial one. To make park hopping a little more convenient for Guests at this time, complimentary park-to-park bus transportation is being provided.
Michael, I think you should have no trouble switching your park pass reservations as long as you do it sooner rather than later. If, however, the parks are full I do think park hopping is a great option for you. If you have any other questions before your trip, please come back and
ask me. I'm here to help. Have fun!
