Can I change the name on a ticket in my party/reservation? One member can no longer join and would like to invite someone else to fill the spot!

Hey there, hi there, Meredith! Thanks so much for dropping by planDisney with your ticket question. Let's get you an answer!

I'm happy to share that you can change the name on a ticket as long as the ticket is wholly unused. The Guest who made the ticket purchase on their Disney account can either call into Ticket Services or log in to their Disney account on the Disneyland app and use the chat feature to make the name change. I will share that while it can be done, you don't have to change the name if you don't want to on a standard theme park ticket. The name assigned to the ticket is more for the Guest to be able to distinguish between tickets and multiple people in the party. A ticket is not actually assigned to a Guest until the ticket is used for the first time by being scanned at the turnstile entrance. Then a photo will be taken of the Guest and that will be how a ticket is assigned to a Guest.

All new nighttime spectaculars will be debuting this weekend for the Disney100 Celebration so be sure to stick around for them at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park

Meredith, thanks again for stopping by. Be sure to stop by again with any other questions you might have!

Meet the Panelist: Carrie, California

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
