I want to change the name on a ticket I already have

Welcome to planDisney, Daniel! I completely understand how details like this can come up when plans shift, and I’m happy to help you sort out what to expect with your ticket.

Here’s the good news: if you purchased a standard Disneyland Resort theme park ticket, you usually don’t need to worry about changing the name ahead of time. A ticket officially becomes linked to a Guest when it is scanned at the entrance to Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure. At that first entry, a quick photo is taken, and that image (rather than the name on the ticket) is what ties the ticket to an individual Guest for the rest of the visit. So even if the name on your ticket doesn’t match the person using it, the ticket will still work as soon as it’s scanned at the gate.

If you’d still prefer to update the name for peace of mind, there is an option to reach out for assistance. The original purchaser can contact Disneyland Ticket Services either by phone or by using the chat feature in the Disneyland app. A Cast Member will be able to review the situation and let you know if a name adjustment can be made.

While you’re getting everything ready for your visit, I also recommend having the Disneyland app downloaded and ready to go. It’s a helpful companion throughout your day, keeping your tickets easily accessible and providing real-time updates on attraction wait times, entertainment schedules, and mobile food ordering options. It can make navigating your day feel much smoother from the moment you arrive.

Another fun feature in the app is the “Characters” tab. This shows you which Disney pals are greeting Guests around the parks on any given day. One extra Q-Tip for your visit: if meeting Disney characters is on your list, Main Street, U.S.A. is a great place to begin your day. It’s often where you’ll find familiar faces like Mickey and Minnie greeting Guests, making it a fun and memorable way to kick things off.

Daniel, I hope this helps you feel confident about your tickets and excited for your upcoming visit. If you’d like more planning tips, we’d be delighted to see you again here at planDisney.

    Have a magical day,
    David
