How to change a name on a ticket?

    Hi Brittanie! Welcome to planDisney!

It is such a great time to visit the Disneyland Resort. You will love "Celebrating Happy" with Mickey, Minnie, ShellieMay, and Duffy as part of the 70th Anniversary Celebration. The energy in the parks is joyful, and it's hard not to smile and dance your way from attraction to attraction!

I think I have some good news for you that won't require an extra step before you hit Main Street. While you are asked to assign a name to each theme park ticket during the purchase process on the Disneyland website, the ticket is not officially assigned to a particular Guest until you scan through the Main Entrance Gates for the first time. At that point, the system will snap a photo of the Guest, which will pop up every time the ticket is scanned. There is no need to change the name on the ticket ahead of time. If you'd still like to try to change the name officially, you can always call the Cast Members in Guest Services to see what they may be able to do from their end.

I was just at the resort a few weeks ago and got to check out the new, upgraded digital turnstiles. As you enter the Esplanade and head to the park entrance, have your ticket barcode ready to scan from the Disneyland app or, if you have a MagicBand+, be ready to tap. Of course, you can also have a hard copy of your ticket printed with your barcode as well. You will manually scan or tap and then be asked to take a selfie, essentially. Magically, the camera will move up or down depending on your height. When you're happy with it, tap the camera icon to capture the photo, and the entry gates will open for you. If you have any questions, there will still be Cast Members available to assist. Easier than waving your magic wand!

I'm wishing you magic for your visit next week, Brittanie! If you have any more questions, my planDisney pals and I are always happy to chat or offer a friendly tip or two. In fact, I'll leave you with one before you head off to the parks. I highly recommend checking out the Entertainment Schedule ahead of time for your park day. There is SO MUCH newness throughout both Disneyland and California Adventure in honor of the 70th from the Celebrate Happy Cavalcade dancing down Main Street to the Tapestry of Happiness projection show on "it's a small world" (my favorite!) to the Paint the Night parade (a do-not-miss!) to Wondrous Journeys at Sleeping Beauty Castle. And those are just the offerings at Disneyland! Be sure to check out World of Color Happiness! and the Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration over at California Adventure!

    See ya real soon!
