Can I change the name on the Genie pass

    Hiya, Monica!

That’s a good question. I’ve had a similar need as well. If you would like to change the name tied to an unused Disneyland Resort theme park ticket, you may call the Tickets phone line or reach out to a Cast Member via the chat service in the Disneyland mobile app. Or you may use the chat service on the Disneyland Resort website. When I asked to change the name on a ticket recently, I filled out an electronic form, sharing my Disneyland Resort account email address and the name information I wanted to be on the park tickets. You may also need your ticket purchase confirmation number.

The Cast Member at the park entrance will take a photo of the Guest who first activates a ticket. For as long as the ticket remains valid afterward, that digital photo will be used to identify the Guest. Except for verification of eligibility for certain promotional tickets, an ID is not needed. So it’s usually OK if the name on a theme park ticket doesn’t match the ticket holder. If you don’t get an opportunity to request a name change before you use the tickets, that will probably be fine.

When I recently requested a name change on our park tickets, it was because I wanted to make sure the tickets matched the ticket holders in case we happened to split up during our visit. That way, we could more easily keep track of who was using which ticket. For example, if we booked Lightning Lane return times to separate attractions using the Disney Genie+ service that we had added to our tickets and passes, we would know which ticket to scan at the different attraction entrances.

Tony’s Tip: It turned out we didn’t need to worry about that either. That is because I had enough MagicBand+ devices to link to each of our tickets. Whether we were using our Park Hopper entitlement to hop over to the other park or checking in to a Lightning Lane reservation, each Guest in our party had their ticket virtually attached to their wrist in the form of their assigned MagicBand+. So there was no worry about accidentally scanning the wrong ticket from the Disneyland mobile app’s Tickets and Passes screen.

Thanks for your question, Monica. If you have any more questions we can help with, please feel free to stop by planDisney again.

I hope you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort!
