Hi there, Mellisa! Welcome to planDisney.
Thanks so much for taking the time to swing by with your question for us. I’m delighted to see you’re planning to visit the
Happiest Place on Earth in a few days and I’m happy to help you sort out your ticket situation.
When entering Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park for the first time, your photo will be taken as a form of facial recognition so that the ticket is assigned to you. Because your face, rather than the name listed on the ticket, ties you to the ticket, it isn’t essential that the name on your standard theme park ticket matches your government-issued ID card. However, for certain promotional ticket offers, you will need to ensure the name on your theme park ticket matches your ID.
Once a ticket has been used for entry and has already been assigned to a specific individual, the name cannot be changed. If you’re wishing to change the name on an unused ticket, you can do so (if you’re the original purchaser) by contacting
Disneyland Tickets Services or utilizing the Chat feature on the
Disneyland Mobile App. A friendly Cast Member will be happy to assist you in addressing this issue. To access the convenient Chat feature, tap the 3 horizontal lines (≡) on the lower right corner, then scroll down and tap “Chat with Us” under the “Help & Feedback” section.
I hope this information is helpful for you, Mellisa. I wish you a very magical time during
Holidays at the Disneyland Resort! Please don’t hesitate to visit us on
planDisney again if you have more questions for us.
Sending you pixie dust,
Kiki
