Can I change the date of my park reservation after purchasing tickets? I want to buy tickets for a gift, and will just select a random date to purchase.

Hey there, hi there, Shanna! Welcome to planDisney. We love every opportunity to help Guests get all of their planning questions answered.

What a wonderful idea to give the gift of Disneyland tickets. I can't think of anything more magical! I'm happy to share with you that the ticket recipient will be able to change the date, which is the theme park ticket reservation, after it is gifted. Theme park reservations are able to be cancelled or modified as long as there are reservations on the new date still available. If you are picking a one-day ticket, I do want to make you aware that these are tier-based. This means if you purchase a ticket that is a Tier 1 price, the recipient will only be able to change the date to other Tier 1 days. If you want to make sure they can visit whenever they want, I suggest looking at Tier 6 tickets.

Another option would be to figure out the approximate price of a ticket and gift a Disney Gift Card for that amount and they can use this on the Disneyland website or Disneyland app to purchase a ticket.

The 2026 schedule for upcoming events and festivals at Disneyland Resort was just recently released on the Disney Parks Blog. That will be helpful for your recipient in choosing their park visit date. This is also where all the exciting updates and announcements are made, so it's always great to reference it before a visit!

Shanna, thanks so much for stopping by! We hope your new year is full of magic!
