How do you change the battery in the magic band +

Welcome to planDisney, Heide! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today. MagicBand+ is one of my favorite tech tools to make a trip to Walt Disney World Resort go as smoothly as possible. The recent upgrade from MagicBand to MagicBand+ has added lots of fun new features, including the ability to recharge, so let's chat about how to make sure your MagicBand+ is ready for a full day of magic every morning.

Your MagicBand+ includes a USB charging cable when you purchase it, but if you've misplaced it or you want another one, the charger can be purchased separately. The charger is a clip style that snaps onto the back of your MagicBand+, so all you have to do is line up the connection point, snap it together, and plug it in!

You can check the battery status of your MagicBand+ using the My Disney Experience app to make sure that you're ready for the day. Flashing red indicates no battery, and you should charge your band as soon as possible. Flashing yellow indicates a low battery that is not fully charged, and flashing green means fully charged and ready for action! Even if your MagicBand+ has a depleted battery, you still have access to some features like tapping into a Theme Park or Lightning Lane, unlocking your Resort Hotel room door, or collecting your Disney PhotoPass photos. MagicBand+ functionality is best with a full battery, so make sure to charge it every night of your trip!

    Have a magical day, Heide!

I'm a personal stylist and I live in Texas with my husband and our three rescue animals. We are Disney Parks-obsessed and love enjoying all the magic that's out there especially for grown-ups. In fact, we even opted out of a tropical honeymoon to spend a blissful week at Walt Disney World Resort instead! I'm thrilled to be on the planDisney Panel and I'm excited to share everything I've learned from all of our trips and help you plan a memorable family vacation.  Learn More About Jessica
