Hello! If by chance someone is unable to make it to Disney, what happens to an unused ticket? Does the person who purchased the ticket receive a credit or is it the person with the name on the ticket? Does the credit have an expiration date?

    Hello Sarah,

It's wonderful to see you here with us at planDisney!

Hopefully, all your Mouseketeers in your travel party will get to join you for all the fun when you visit the Walt Disney World Resort. There's so much magic awaiting you!

You'll want to keep in mind that theme park tickets for the Walt Disney World Resort are nonrefundable. If you have a theme park ticket that you have linked to your My Disney Experience account and that ticket is not used for theme park entry, it would remain with your account. When you purchase multi-day theme park tickets, the tickets are valid for a certain number of days based on the dates you selected for the tickets. If you need to or would like to, you can reassign a theme park ticket so long as the ticket has not been used for theme park entry.

It's also really helpful to know that if a ticket expires and if a ticket is unused, the amount paid for the ticket can be applied towards the purchase of a new theme park ticket.

Sarah, I hope this information is helpful as you make your plans. If you have additional questions about your tickets or would like additional assistance with your tickets, you can reach out to the Walt Disney World Resort at (407)-934-7639 and speak with a Cast Member for assistance. You can also use the "Chat with Us" feature in the My Disney Experience mobile app as well as the chat service online.

Here's wishing you lots of Disney magic in your day today, Sarah!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
