Hi Kimberly, and welcome to planDisney! I was so excited to see your question about Dumbo because I grew up watching Dumbo's Circus and he is one of my all-time favorite Disney characters also! Like he tells us, some days deserve an extra dose of cute - and how cute would it be to give Dumbo a hug and meet him at the parks!
Unfortunately, at this time, there is no character experience at the Walt Disney World Resort available for guests to meet Dumbo. After doing a little research, I did find that Dumbo was out and about greeting guests at Disneyland Resort's
Disney After Dark Throwback Nite this past April. And boy, was he adorable! Maybe one day in the future he will fly coast to coast and find his way to us at the Most Magical Place on Earth!
In the meantime, I do have a few suggestions for how to get a little Dumbo magic on your visit! In
Magic Kingdom Park, the entire Storybook Circus area is themed on the classic tale of our favorite flying elephant. Here, you can soar above Fantasyland on
Dumbo the Flying Elephant. If you're traveling with little ones, the queue for this popular family attraction even offers a fun and interactive circus-themed, air conditioned play area to help pass the time until Dumbo is ready to take you on a magical flight!
Just outside of his attraction, there is also a stationary Dumbo available for guests to pose with and take photos with; while not quite the same as meeting Dumbo himself, it may be as close as we can get for now!
I also recommend checking out the
Casey Jr. Splash 'N' Soak Station in this area. The water playground carries its inspiration from the train in Dumbo, so even if you're not looking to make a splash, as a Dumbo fan, you will enjoy the nostalgia of seeing the train from Dumbo's story.
Kimberly, maybe one day we will be able to meet the ninth wonder of the universe and the world's only flying elephant at Walt Disney World Resort, but in the meantime, I hope this helps you in your planning! Come back anytime to
planDisney if you have additional vacation planning questions! Like Dumbo, we're all ears!
Don't just fly - soar,
Alison
