Hi there, Jasmin. Welcome to planDisney!
I’m so glad you’ve decided to stop by with your questions for us. Hooray! You have an upcoming trip to the Happiest Place on Earth in less than a month and how exciting you’re planning on becoming a Magic Key holder as well.
I really do hope
Magic Keys are still available for purchase during your visit at the end of February. It’s really hard to say whether Disneyland Resort will still be selling Magic Keys during your visit since supply is limited. I recommend checking on the
Disneyland Resort website during or right before your visit to see if Magic Keys are available for purchase. If so, you’re in luck! You can upgrade your eligible, partially used ticket to a Magic Key pass (subject to availability) before midnight on the last valid day of the ticket. You can do this on the
Disneyland Mobile App, Disneyland Resort website or at an on-property ticket booth. If you have not used your ticket yet, you must visit a ticket booth for this upgrade; unfortunately, a wholly unused ticket cannot be upgraded to a Magic Key pass through the Disneyland Resort website or Disneyland Mobile App. I confirmed with a Cast Member that as a California resident, Jasmin, you’re able to make monthly payments toward your Magic Key.
Just some things to consider: Any upcoming
Theme Park Reservations that were made with your active ticket will not carry over to the new Magic Key pass. So you’ll need to make new park reservations once you’ve upgraded to a Magic Key (subject to theme park capacity and blockout date). Also, if you applied a partially used ticket towards a Magic Key, your pass will be backdated to begin on the first date the ticket was used.
I hope this information is helpful for you, Jasmin. Please don’t hesitate to visit us on
planDisney again if you have more questions.
Have a magical day,
Kiki
