Any chance a free dining or room promo will be coming out for the week of Oct. 12 - Oct. 19? (Otherwise, we cannot afford the trip and will need to cancel our existing WDW reservation. :-(

    Hi Nicole,

Unfortunately, it's highly unlikely as that is a popular week to visit Walt Disney World and historically it has been left out of Free Dining offers.

However, before you cancel your trip, I would encourage you to consider moving it up so that you are checking in on the last day Free Dining is offered. As long as your check in date falls within the valid dates, then your entire vacation is included in the Free Dining offer.

Also, Free Dining does give guests the Disney Dining Plan for free. However, you will pay rack rates for your tickets and hotel room. Rack rates means paying full price.

For our family, we always pay less by booking the components of our trip separately.

First, we find a room only discount for a WDW resort. Next, we find discounted tickets and highly suggest utilizing www.undercovertourist.com. I've used them myself and they are fantastic.

Next, pay out-of-pocket for meals. I've analyzed the Free Dining offer in many scenarios and it typically costs more overall for a vacation package with free dining rather than purchasing the components of your trip separately. Paying rack rate for those tickets and your hotel room is expensive!

A great way to save money is by purchasing one annual pass for a family member then booking your hotel room with an Annual Pass discount. Purchase the rest of your tickets using the above recommendation. Then get a Tables in Wonderland card for savings off your meals.

    I love the cost-saving tips at www.mousesavers.com.

I hope it works out for your family!
