Hi there, Su! Welcome to planDisney!
As our friend Pooh would say, "Oh, bother!" I'm so sorry you weren't able to get a
Disney Park Pass reservation for the Magic Kingdom Park next week. With the holidays just around the corner, it looks like lots of Guests are headed to the theme parks in the days ahead.
Since theme park tickets are sold by date and not by park, you can purchase them as long as at least one park has Disney Park Pass reservations available. Having said that, if you did buy tickets at the windows outside the Magic Kingdom Park and it was already booked, you wouldn't be able to use the tickets to enter that park. However, you can still buy a ticket with the
Park Hopper Option for that day and
make a reservation for a different park that does have availability. Then, when park hopping opens after 2 p.m., you may be able to hop from that park to the Magic Kingdom Park provided it hasn't reached capacity. I wouldn't try to do this on very busy days like Christmas Day or New Year's Eve, but it may be possible on December 16. Just keep an eye on the daily Park Hours section of the
My Disney Experience mobile app on your phone. If park hopping is limited for your day, you'll see it there.
Su, the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays is also going on right now, and it's another favorite of mine! You can tour the "World" exploring holiday traditions of different cultures and sampling some amazing holiday treats. I think that would be a wonderful way to spend the first part of your Disney day!
Thank you so much for stopping by to see us, Su. I hope this helps you plan a lovely holiday visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
