Hi Stefanie! I am so glad to hear that you are thinking about visiting the Disney Water Parks! At the conclusion of a recent family visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth, I asked my three sons to share their favorite part of the visit. All three, without hesitation, said “Blizzard Beach!” You’re going to have a great time!
Chairs are available throughout
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. There are many chairs spread throughout the water park, but they are on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition to the chairs throughout the parks, there is also the option to purchase reserved “lounge areas” for your group or family. At Disney’s Blizzard Beach, these areas are called “Polar Patios.” At Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, they are called “Beachcomber Shacks” and “
Typhoon Lagoon Umbrellas.” All of these areas provide a reserved space for your group and a variety of amenities (which are rather nice). There is a range of prices for each area. For example, renting an umbrella area at Typhoon Lagoon will cost approximately $99. While the Beachcomber Shack will run approximately $375. Over at Blizzard Beach, the
Standard Polar Patio will cost approximately $225, while the
Premium Polar Patio costs about $350.
Lodge Picnic Umbrella rentals are also available at Blizzard Beach for approximately $40. All prices are subject to change so be sure to check the most up-to-date prices on the Walt Disney World Resort website.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is currently closed for refurbishment. At the present time, a reopening date is unknown, but the annual refurbishments of the water parks typically take a few months. With the closure of Blizzard Beach,
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon will be opening this week!
Stefanie, you can always check the Walt Disney World Resort calendar for openings and closures. The operating dates for both water parks can be found on the webpage dedicated to each park on the Walt Disney World Resort website!
I hope you have a splash-tastic time visiting the Disney Water Parks!
Happy Planning!
Jonathan
