Hi there! Are there only certain Disney Resorts that may use the water ferry's/taxi's? We are planning to possibly stay at The Art of Animation

Hi, Teresa!  Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I'm so excited to hEAR that you are planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation!  You are going to love the many benefits that come along with your stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel.  In my opinion, one of the best advantages of staying right in the middle of the magic is all of the convenient transportation options.  Just as each resort hotel has its own unique theming, each resort hotel also offers its own modes of transportation.

I think that traveling by boat is one of the most relaxing ways to move about the Walt Disney World Resort.  Only select Walt Disney World Resort Hotels offer water transportation.  However, you need not be staying at one of these particular resorts to take advantage of this transportation option.  Any guest visiting one of these resort hotels may use the water taxis or ferryboats.

Magic Kingdom Park is accessible by boat from the following resort hotels:
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
    Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
    Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios can be reached by boat from these locations:
    Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
    Disney’s BoardWalk Villas
    Disney’s Beach Club Resort
    Disney’s Beach Club Villas
    Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
    Walt Disney World Swan Hotel
    Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel

If you are planning to do some shopping or enjoy a meal at Disney Springs, you can travel there by boat from these resort hotels:
    Disney’s Port Orleans Resort—French Quarter
    Disney’s Port Orleans Resort—Riverside
    Disney’s Old Key West Resort
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

Although Disney's Art of Animation Resort does not offer water transportation, I'm happy to tell you that, in addition to bus transportation, it does have access to the Disney Skyliner.  This new gondola system makes traveling to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios a breeze!  It is so quick and convenient, and the gorgeous aerial views make this new mode of transportation almost like an attraction itself.

Teresa, I hope that you find this information helpful as you select your resort hotel.  If you have any other vacation planning questions, please visit us again.  See ya real soon!
