Are there certain Disney ears that you can get painted at Disneyland ? Or are all ears paintable ?

Hiya, Amber, and welcome to planDisney! I'm happy to lend an ear (and an answer!) to your question. Ears are one of my favorite souvenirs to bring home with me, and I love that you're hoping to personalize a pair while you are there.

Not all ears are alike when it comes to personalization! There are the original Mickey Ear hats that can be embroidered, and several Minnie ear headbands that can't be painted. To have a pair painted especially for you, you will need to purchase the leather-style Mickey ears at Elias & Co. in Disney California Adventure Park or Plaza Point in Disneyland Park. All ears need to be new with tags AND have a receipt of purchase. I've also been told that personalization (whether painted or embroidered) needs to happen on the day the item is purchased, so you will want to double-check this policy with a Cast Member before you make your purchase. I also recommend starting the personalization process at the beginning of the day, as there can be a wait later on in the day!

Another one of my favorite souvenirs is just a few doors down from Plaza Point. It's at the Silhouette Studio, where they use your profile to personalize a special piece of art. I love it because you can have more than one person for each sitting, so I like to have one made of my kids every few years. My husband and I even have one from when we were dating! It makes an extra special keepsake and is easy to pack since it's flat. Another option to commemorate an extra magical day!

Amber, if you have any other questions, feel free to drop back by. We're all ears!
