Hi John!
Welcome to planDisney!
Using a
golf cart while staying at
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is a very useful, if not essential method of getting around and exploring this vast location. The current minimum age for driving a golf cart is 16, and the driver must hold a valid driver's licence (the license must remain with the driver at all times while operating the cart). All the
Rules and Regulations regarding vehicles, carts and recreational devices can be seen here.
The Disney bus service is running from your Resort hotel to the four theme parks, or you can enjoy a lovely boat ride on Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon to Magic Kingdom Park. The water taxi that connects Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort with Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Contemporary Resort is temporarily suspended, but if you wish to explore other Resort hotels you can take transport from any theme park or Disney Springs to all Resort hotels.
During the phased re-opening of Walt Disney World, we may need a little more considered and careful planning, but our vacations to Walt Disney World Resort can still be a magical experience. Please read this information about
Returning to a World of Magic, and
Disney Resort Hotels: Know Before You Go, and keep your eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for all the latest official updates as they are announced.
We know you have many questions about what this all means for your upcoming visit. Please know we are working to be able to answer your questions as quickly as possible, and we look forward to providing an update as soon as we have more information to share. Come back and ask as many questions as you like! We are always happy to help you plan your vacation.
