How is cell service/ WIFI in DW? Most of the answers I have seen are a few years old. Will we be easily able to get on the My Disney Experience app and text each other to make plans? Some tips said bring walkie talkies but not sure if this is outdated.

Hi, Krista! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms panel.

I personally do not feel there is a need to bring Walkie Talkies. I think of them as just another thing to carry around. I have had no problem with cellular service and have been able to text and make phone calls with my cell phone from anywhere I have tried throughout Walt Disney World Resort.

You can find Wi-Fi nearly everywhere including your Walt Disney World Resort hotel and at the theme parks. However, with several people using the signals the Wi-Fi service can be quite slow. A few visits ago, my husband started taking screenshots of our daily plans from the My Disney Experience app and made it his lock screen on his cell phone. This way we didn't have to wait for the app to load each time we wanted to look up our scheduled FastPass+ experiences and Advanced Dining Reservations. With just a push of the home button on our cell phones - it is all right there. Simply update your home screen each morning with your day's plans.

Wishing you and your family a magical vacation, Krista!

Meet the Panelist: Rachel, Wisconsin

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
