How do "Celebrations" work for people not staying on the resort? My son will be turning 5 March 27th *we arrive that day and will be visiting WDW the 28-April 1st, We will also be celebrating my Bday for April 16th.

    Hi  Kelly,

You do not have to stay on property in order to celebrate your birthday or your son's birthday at Walt Disney World!

Don't forget to get a birthday button to wear!  You can obtain your special button at any Guest Services location at any of the theme parks or Downtown Disney.

You might be thinking about a special meal.  I suggest making an Advanced Dining Reservation (ADR) at either Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary Resort or at the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom to celebrate your son's birthday.  Both are very nice; keep in mind that you do not have to be staying at a Disney resort hotel to have a meal there.

You might also consider getting a custom cake.  You can choose from a variety of cakes and shapes and have it personalized for your father.  It is available at most table service restaurants throughout Walt Disney World.  Just call the cake hotline in advance:  (407) 827-2253.

Have a magical vacation and Happy Birthday to you and your son!
