Hey Jennifer,
Welcome back to planDisney! According to the travel date you provided, you have about 60 days until your vacation, so that means it is
time to start booking all your fabulous Enchanting Extras and dining reservations, and think about where you’ll be celebrating the New Year!
While we haven’t heard specific plans for New Year’s celebrations yet, we can look at past years to get an idea of what might be offered this year. Previously, the
Fantasy in the Sky fireworks were shown in Magic Kingdom on December 30 and 31 at 7:30 PM and 11:50 PM. In the past, EPCOT has shown Cheers to the New Year: A Sparkling Celebration on December 31, closer to midnight. Fantasy in the Sky and Cheers to the New Year usually include a countdown to midnight, including the 7:30 PM showing, which is perfect for families with little ones who may not be able to stay up late!
In terms of other activities, in the past, Magic Kingdom and EPCOT have had DJs and dance parties throughout the park on New Year’s Eve. One thing I loved about previous EPCOT celebrations is that the countries around the World Showcase celebrated as the New Year arrived in their country’s time zone.
The official
Park Hours and Events Calendar is not released until 60 days prior. Sometimes, the fireworks and entertainment offerings are not released until much closer to the actual date. There are still a few days until you reach 60 days before December 31, so I recommend checking back each day as it updates.
I’m sorry I don’t have more information at this time, Jennifer! Keep checking the Hours & Events Calendar, as well as the
Disney Parks Blog, to see if more details are released in the coming weeks. If you have any more questions, we’d love for you to come see us again at
planDisney!
