We will be celebrating my wife's birthday and first year of life 2.0 (cancer survivor). We're trying to build new stronger positive memories. Any suggestions for getting a few anytime FP for our upcoming stay?

    Hi Marc!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

As an Oncology Nurse, there is nothing that brings more joy to my heart than hearing from a cancer survivor and their family. I also thought that answering this question on World Cancer Day is quite fitting!

I understand wanting to build beautiful new memories. The journey that you and your wife have been on is not for the faint of heart. It is a journey that, while may bring painful memories, should be celebrated. Your wife has accomplished so much, and that journey is so important. It shows her strength and determination. First, I would recommend stopping by Guest Services at any of the Theme Parks or Disney Springs. Ask them for an “I’m Celebrating” pin. They will ask what you are celebrating and can write things like “cancer survivor,” or “new beginnings,” etc.

While I don’t have any suggestions for obtaining extra FastPass+ entitlements, you can select three FastPass+ return times with any valid Theme Park ticket. If you are staying at the Walt Disney World Resort, you can make these selections beginning 60 days prior to check-in, or 30 days prior to your visit if you are staying offsite.

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, consider an “In-Room Celebration” from Disney Floral & Gifts. They have many different themed celebrations, including Birthday, Ultimate Celebrations, and celebrations of love. You can also celebrate by taking some gorgeous photos with Disney PhotoPass. From pictures in front of Cinderella Castle to Magic Shots, the PhotoPass photographers will help you to capture your magical memories.

One last idea to commemorate this joyous occasion, I suggest picking up a white mat that can be used to frame out a photo. Take that mat with you to your Character Meet & Greets with some colorful sharpies. Have each Character you meet sign the mat. Make a sign that says “Survivor” and have a Photopass photographer take a photo of your wife holding that sign. You can then frame that photo with the mat signed by the characters! I think it would be a beautiful photo to display in your home and a reminder of new beginnings!

Marc, wishing you and your wife good health, happiness, and many magical memories.
