We are celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary in 2026. thinking about taking family on a disney cruise. There are 20 of us. I need an estimated cost to know if I should even continue. Can you help? Just base cost... I know excursions are more.

    Hello there, Darlene!

Congratulations on your amazing milestone anniversary next year. My wife and I celebrated a milestone anniversary on a cruise to Alaska aboard the Disney Wonder a few years ago. It was amazing! What a beautiful sentiment to include your extended family. I can't think of a more exciting way to commemorate the tremendous legacy you have given your family.

Here are my tips for pricing out a special Disney Cruise Line vacation with a large group.

    1. Choose a date. The crew aboard your Disney Cruise Line ship will be happy to celebrate your wedding anniversary any time, even if it's not on the exact date. But if celebrating on the exact date of your anniversary is important to you personally, by all means, do what you can to make sure you get to celebrate in your preferred way!
    2. Choose a departure port. Sure, we'd all love an exotic itinerary to Hawai'i or the Mediterranean. But choosing a port that is as convenient as possible for the largest number of your party will make it easier to turn your dream into a reality. For most Guests, I recommend cruises from Port Canaveral or Fort Lauderdale.
    3. Enter your date range and starting port in the filters on the Find a Cruise page. Under the number of Guests, I start with the number of adults and children of your largest stateroom group. If a family group is more than about 4-5 passengers, higher-end suites are potential options. Otherwise, it may be helpful to shuffle family members around. It can be a lot of fun for cousins to share time together or for grandkids to enjoy being close to their grandparents.
    4. Use the "Add Another Stateroom" option to price out up to four staterooms at a time. Or you can price out each stateroom individually. There isn't usually a price scaling for multiple staterooms. So whichever way is most convenient for you is fine.
    5. Click "View Dates" to see and search for the perfect available itinerary. Once you pick an itinerary, you can price out each individual stateroom or group of staterooms. In a few iterations, you can calculate the component prices to add up to the grand total for your party.
    6. You will likely need to book more than four staterooms. Since four is the limit with the online tools, either book separate staterooms and then later call to request that they be linked together or simply start with the phone call to the Disney Cruise Line and have them book everything at once.
    7. The Disney Cruise Line recently changed its booking policy to require a lower initial deposit of only 10% for most staterooms and itineraries. Subsequent payments may be made at your own pace until the paid-in-full date.

I hope that helps you get a step closer to the wedding anniversary celebration of your dreams, Darlene. Please visit us here at planDisney again to ask any more questions you may have.

Congratulations again, Darlene. Have a magical cruise!
