    We are celebrating my son's fifth birthday at chef mickey during our visit. How do I go about ordering a cake? Can I go through our front desk at the resort or call a number? Thank you!

    I am so happy to hEAR you have an upcoming visit to Walt Disney World to celebrate your son's fifth Birthday! There is no better place to mark the occasion, and breaking bread at Chef Mickey's with the "Big Cheese" himself, Mickey Mouse is a terrific idea!

    Ashlee, if you are looking to order a specialty or celebration cake to be delivered to your table at Chef Mickey's, you are in luck as the talented and creative chefs who work at Disney's Contemporary Resort are incredible to work with and will ensure that your son enjoys a memorable and impressive cake for this special milestone.

    There are lots of options for birthday cakes, including Mickey Mouse celebration cakes, or custom-designed specialty cakes. In addition, if anyone in your party has any dietary concerns or allergies, there are also allergy-friendly and vegan options available.

    To order a Mickey Mouse celebration cake in either chocolate or vanilla flavor, and with the option of inscribing a Happy Birthday message to your son, simply call (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463. Be sure to have your Chef Mickey's dining reservation number available when you call. The current cost (subject to change) is $35 for a cake which should serve 4-6 guests.

    Another option is a custom designed specialty cake themed with your son's favorite Disney character, attraction, or almost anything you can dream up. Pricing varies depending upon the details involved, but generally start at $75. To order, call the Cake Hotline at (407) 827-2253 at least 72 hours in advance of your Chef Mickey's reservation. I have ordered many custom cakes and have always been thrilled with the results. My absolute favorite was a hauntingly frightful 40th Birthday Haunted Mansion themed cake which was (pardon the pun) to DIE for!
